Tenaris Launches Casing Threaded Connection for Deepwater HPHT Oil and Gas Wells in the UAE

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 2, steel pipe manufacturer Tenaris launched the new TenarisHydril White premium threaded-and-coupled connection at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in the UAE, targeting complex drilling conditions such as deepwater, high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT), horizontal wells and extended-reach wells. The new product features a slim coupling design, integrates Dopeless dope-free thread technology, and supports automated casing running operations on drilling rigs.

TenarisHydril White employs a high-sealing-performance threaded connection design with high torque capacity and is available in multiple sizes. Its slim coupling structure reduces the outer diameter at the connection while maintaining the overall structural load-bearing efficiency of the pipe body, facilitating casing running in high-angle and extended-reach wells and improving conditions for cementing operations in the wellbore annulus.

The new product integrates Tenaris's proprietary Dopeless technology, eliminating the need to apply conventional thread dope to the threaded connection at the drilling site. According to Tenaris, this technology reduces preparatory steps before casing running, shortens on-site operation time, and avoids emissions associated with the use of conventional thread dope.

TenarisHydril White is also designed for casing installation operations on automated drilling rigs, enabling casing connection and running operations in conjunction with automated equipment and reducing the need for personnel to enter high-risk areas on the drill floor.

Tenaris states that the connection performance of the new product has been verified against testing requirements stricter than industry standards, with a focus on sealing capability and structural reliability. As a new member of the TenarisHydril family, the product is supplied alongside the existing Blue and Wedge series connections and is suitable for casing installation in deepwater, HPHT and complex well types.
