en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 4, Australian engineering services company Worley signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with US LNG developer Venture Global for the CP2 LNG expansion project. The project is located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, USA. The contract is on a cost-reimbursable basis and covers the design, procurement and construction of the expansion works. The developer plans to make a final investment decision on the expansion project in early 2027.

Worley had previously provided pre-FEED support for the CP2 expansion project under the master services agreement signed by the two parties. The new EPC contract extends its scope of involvement from early-stage engineering services to the engineering, procurement and construction of the expansion project. Worley is also providing EPC services for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the CP2 project; the new contract covers additional expansion works that are independent of the two previous construction phases.

Project delivery will be jointly led by Worley's offices in Houston and Baton Rouge in the United States and Reading in the United Kingdom, with support from the company's global integrated delivery teams. The award continues Worley's engineering execution work on Phases 1 and 2 of the CP2 project.

According to the development plan previously announced by Venture Global, the new CP2 expansion works target approximately 10 million tonnes per annum of LNG capacity and are planned to be implemented within the existing project site. The developer submitted an expansion permit application to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in 2026 and applied to the US Department of Energy for the relevant export authorization, while also advancing long-lead equipment procurement for liquefaction trains and associated power generation modules. The expansion project is scheduled to begin LNG production by the end of 2028.
