en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 5, ConocoPhillips provided an update on the latest progress of the Willow oilfield development project in Alaska during its Q3 2026 earnings call. More than 75% of the process modules for the project's production facilities have been completed, and overall engineering progress has exceeded 50%. The modules are being manufactured along the U.S. Gulf Coast and are scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2027, after which they will be shipped by sea to Alaska in the summer of that year. The project is expected to achieve first oil in early 2029.

The Willow project is located on the North Slope of Alaska. ConocoPhillips completed critical infrastructure civil works during the previous winter construction window. The project is currently advancing infrastructure construction required to commence production well drilling in 2027, and plans to continue building production support pipelines during the upcoming winter construction season.

According to Kirk Johnson, Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Technical at the company, the process modules manufactured along the Gulf Coast are scheduled for consolidated sea shipment to Alaska in the summer of 2027. The project team is concurrently arranging construction of the North Slope receiving site and supporting facilities to ensure that subsequent transportation and installation work can proceed once the modules arrive.

ConocoPhillips plans to commence production well drilling at the Willow project in 2027, building up a backlog of production wells ahead of first oil. In 2028, the project will continue with production facility installation, tie-in, and commissioning, with subsequent construction organized around the target of first oil in early 2029.

The Willow project is planned to include three drill sites, a central production facility, and an operations center and camp. According to the development plan previously announced by ConocoPhillips, the project is expected to reach peak crude oil production of approximately 180,000 barrels per day, with total investment guidance of USD 8.5 billion to 9 billion. The company maintained its schedule of first oil in early 2029 during this earnings call.
