Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 8, ZTE and Beeline Kazakhstan have officially launched Giga City 2.0 – Green and AI New Era, presenting new developments in intelligent and environmentally friendly telecommunications. The event, held in 2025, continues the progress of the original Giga City initiative introduced in 2024 and reflects Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts toward digital modernization.

During the launch, both companies announced a series of joint pilot projects focused on improving network performance, introducing sustainable energy solutions, and supporting the development of smart urban infrastructure. Representatives from the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan were present at the event.

One of the main highlights was the installation of the first Magic Pole smart infrastructure solution in Kazakhstan, located in central Astana. This multifunctional unit, jointly developed by ZTE and Beeline Kazakhstan, integrates a mobile base station with street lighting in a compact design. Its implementation is aimed at enhancing mobile signal quality in densely populated areas and enabling future smart city services, while maintaining a visually harmonious presence in the urban environment.

Another major project involves the deployment of independent communication units along the Astana-Borovoe national highway. These mast-mounted systems are not connected to the power grid and are supported entirely by a hybrid energy system combining solar panels and a wind turbine. Designed for resilience, the units operate reliably under harsh weather conditions and ensure continuous network coverage in remote areas. This model is expected to be extended to additional highways across the country, contributing to improved connectivity and reduced environmental footprint.
