Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 25, On August 19, 2025, the China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) released a report at the Western Energy Storage Forum in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, marking a milestone in China’s energy storage market. By June 2025, total energy storage capacity reached 164.3 GW, up 59% year-on-year, with new energy storage, primarily lithium-ion systems, hitting 101.3 GW, a 110% increase.
Haisheng Chen, CNESA Chairman, stated: “The surpassing of 100 GW in new energy storage marks a transformative moment for China’s energy sector, showcasing the strength of our technological advancements and commitment to sustainable energy solutions.”
The growth supports grid stability, renewable energy integration, and industrial applications. China’s focus on lithium-ion technology enhances energy efficiency, positioning the country as a leader in global energy storage development.
