Mobiuz, ZTE Boost Uzbekistan Connectivity With Network Modernization
Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 2, ZTE, a global leader in communication technology, and Mobiuz, a prominent telecommunications provider in Uzbekistan, have successfully completed the initial phase of a significant network modernization project in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region. This milestone advances Uzbekistan’s efforts to enhance digital infrastructure across its regions.
The project involved a comprehensive upgrade of network systems, including the replacement of radio relay systems and base stations, and the deployment of over 1,200 new base stations in the two regions. An official ceremony in Nukus, attended by government officials and media, showcased the project’s outcomes, highlighting its impact on connectivity.
The upgrades have significantly improved service quality for Mobiuz subscribers, boosting internet speeds by 20% in Karakalpakstan and 33% in Khorezm. Data traffic has also increased, rising by 36% and 34% respectively, supporting the growing digital needs of residents and businesses. Independent testing by Uzbekistan’s Republican Center for Telecommunication Networks Control confirmed Mobiuz as the leading provider for internet speed and network reliability in these areas.
Sobir Aripov, CEO of Mobiuz, stated: “This project is not just about technology or investment. Above all, it’s about improving the quality of people’s lives. It’s about our children receiving a good education, doctors utilizing modern opportunities, and entrepreneurs accessing new markets. The outstanding results in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm confirm we are on the right path. At this point, on behalf of the Mobiuz team, I express my deep gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this work. Together, we are creating a solid foundation for a digital Uzbekistan.”
Wang Guangdong, CEO of ZTE Uzbekistan, added: “ZTE is proud to be the technological partner for this transformative project. The successful first-phase results demonstrate our commitment to supporting Uzbekistan’s digitalization goals with cutting-edge, reliable solutions. Our advanced equipment and expertise have enabled a future-proof network infrastructure that will serve the people of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm for years to come. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Mobiuz to drive innovation across the country.”
