Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 21, As of June 16, Ukraine had harvested 3.08 million tons of soybeans from an area of 1.214 million hectares, representing about 61.8% of the planned total area. The average yield stands at 2.29 tons per hectare. According to analysts from Spike Brokers, depending on yield performance across the remaining surplus areas of over 950,000 hectares, the total national soybean harvest could reach between 5.3 million and 5.6 million tons.

The report highlights that the regions with the greatest potential for increasing overall production include Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Ternopil, Chernihiv, and Kyiv. These areas are expected to maintain relatively high yields in the range of 25–30 centners per hectare, contributing significantly to the total harvest. Favorable agronomic conditions and steady crop development have supported productivity in these key soybean-producing regions.

In contrast, analysts note that the western regions, including Lviv, Rivne, and Khmelnytsky, could experience higher yields later in the season due to weather conditions that have been more favorable for soybean growth. The later harvesting period in these areas is expected to result in improved productivity compared to early estimates.

The forecast indicates that if current conditions persist and yields in the surplus regions either remain stable or increase by up to 10%, Ukraine’s soybean output this season could surpass earlier projections. Such a result would reflect one of the strongest performances in recent years, driven by both favorable weather and effective regional crop management practices.

Soybean production continues to play a key role in Ukraine’s agricultural sector, providing an important source of feed and export commodities. Strong performance in the country’s central and northern regions may offset potential yield variations elsewhere, supporting overall stability in national output.

The ongoing harvest progress and yield dynamics across different oblasts will be closely monitored in the coming weeks as harvesting expands into later-maturing fields. Consistent field conditions and steady yields will be critical for achieving the upper end of the projected total harvest range.

According to Spike Brokers, the combination of regional yield resilience and generally favorable weather could place Ukraine’s soybean harvest in a strong position for both domestic processing and export supply, depending on post-harvest quality and logistical factors. The final figures will depend on continued favorable weather during the remaining harvest period and efficient completion of field operations across all major producing regions.
