This represents a net increase of 455,000 base stations compared with the end of 2024, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
China’s telecommunications sector continued steady growth in the first three quarters of 2025, with more mobile users adopting 5G services. By the end of September, the number of 5G mobile phone users across the country’s three major telecom operators and China Broadnet had approached 1.2 billion.
Over the past five years, China has established the world’s largest and most extensive 5G network infrastructure, supporting rapid adoption of next-generation mobile services and digital applications.
