Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 11, Nokia and TNN have announced an extension of their partnership to continue modernising Denmark’s mobile network infrastructure with AI-enabled and autonomous capabilities. The upgrade programme, already underway, aims to enhance capacity, reliability, and the end-user experience nationwide.

TNN, a joint venture between energy and telecoms group Norlys and operator Telenor, provides mobile coverage to more than three million customers across Denmark. The renewed agreement will see Nokia deploy technology from its AirScale radio portfolio alongside its MantaRay automation platform.

The modernisation will include Habrok Massive MIMO radios and Pandion multi-band remote radio heads to boost coverage and performance in both dense urban areas and rural regions. Nokia will also supply its latest AirScale baseband systems, Ponente, Lodos, and Levante, designed to handle rising data traffic while improving energy efficiency. The solutions incorporate Nokia’s ReefShark chipsets, developed to maintain high network throughput with lower power consumption.

The upgrade is intended to support new digital services and enterprise applications, while establishing a foundation for future 5G-Advanced and beyond-5G use cases. Daniel Askeroth, SVP Telco at Norlys, said: “Partnering with Nokia will provide us with the best services and allow us to embrace the opportunities of 5G and beyond. This investment will support the delivery of an autonomous, AI-powered 5G network to customers across Denmark.”

Louise Haurum, CTO at Telenor Denmark, added: “The renewed partnership will accelerate innovation and strengthen network resilience.”

As part of the agreement, TNN will adopt Nokia’s MantaRay AutoPilot, an AI-driven system that integrates with its self-organising network technology to automate real-time network optimisation, reduce operational costs, and improve service quality. Nokia will continue to provide managed services across the network, streamlining operations and enhancing overall performance.

Mark Atkinson, head of radio access network at Nokia, said: “This renewed deal demonstrates our role as a trusted technology provider in Denmark’s mobile market. We are helping TNN expand 5G coverage and capacity to deliver best-in-class connectivity experiences.”

The upgrade programme underlines both companies’ commitment to delivering reliable, high-capacity mobile networks across Denmark. By combining advanced radio equipment, energy-efficient baseband systems, and AI-driven automation, TNN aims to meet growing consumer demand and support enterprise digitalisation.

This collaboration reinforces Nokia’s long-standing presence in the Danish mobile market and highlights TNN’s focus on leveraging autonomous, AI-powered network technologies to future-proof connectivity for customers across the country.
