Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 27, Vietnam's wheat imports and consumption patterns are expected to remain steady through the 2025/26 marketing year, according to the latest report from the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service.
Total wheat imports for 2025/26 are forecast at approximately 5.7 million tonnes, largely unchanged from previous estimates. The milling sector continues to account for the majority of demand, while feed use is projected to stay relatively flat at current levels.
Feed mills in Vietnam maintain consistent inclusion of wheat as a supplementary energy source in livestock and aquaculture rations. Wheat is routinely combined with corn and other grains, with no significant adjustments to standard formulations anticipated in the near term.
The supply mix for imported wheat continues to evolve gradually. Australia's market share has been trending lower, while Canada and the United States have gained ground, supported by competitive pricing and consistent quality standards that meet Vietnamese milling and feed requirements.
Stable wheat availability and predictable pricing are expected to support continued balanced utilization across both food and feed sectors without major disruptions to existing procurement or ration practices.
