Wedoany.com Report-Dec.19, Syensqo's production facility in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, has achieved ISCC PLUS mass balance certification for its Rhodasurf® laundry care surfactant manufactured at the site's on-pipe ethoxylation units.
This certification validates the implementation of a third-party audited chain of custody process to trace bio-circular ethoxylate feedstocks. With this approval, Syensqo will commence delivery of certified laureth-7 under the Rhodasurf® B7 UP brand for liquid laundry detergents beginning in January 2026.
The ISCC PLUS standard ensures that bio-circular materials are properly incorporated and allocated within the Ethylene Oxide supply chain. This enables the creation of natural alcohol ethoxylates with a reduced carbon footprint. The solution serves as a direct replacement, requiring no modifications to current product formulations or distribution networks.

The certified product addresses a significant need among consumer goods companies and private label producers: accessing natural-origin surfactants with substantially lower CO₂ emissions at commercial volumes. Leveraging the ISCC PLUS certification alongside established ethoxylation expertise, Syensqo provides formulators with dependable, verified options suitable for diverse brands and product types.
This milestone at the Moerdijk site aligns with Syensqo's sustainability objectives and follows the earlier certification of its Zhangjiagang facility in China in 2022. It reinforces the company's role in supporting clients as they develop innovative offerings that respond to increasing demands for environmental responsibility, transparency, and resource efficiency.
The certification enhances Syensqo's capacity to supply sustainable ingredients for household cleaning products, contributing to broader efforts in reducing environmental impact within the industry.
