Route Determined for Suedostlink Section

Wedoany.com Report-Nov 23,The German Federal Network Agency has concluded the third planning approval procedure for a section of the SuedOstLink.

The link is planned as a line for high-voltage direct current transmission from north-east Germany to Bavaria.

The latest planning approval means that the route of the line as an underground cable between Nittenau and Pfatter in Bavaria has been determined.

In this section, the Danube is crossed under by means of a controlled horizontal drilling method.

Since autumn last year, the Federal Network Agency has approved several applications for an early start of construction in this line section.

Transmission system operator TenneT TSO GmbH was able to start initial construction work even before this planning approval decision was issued. The Federal Network Agency has now issued a comprehensive permit.

The approved approximately 29km-long route of section D2 begins west of Goppeltshof in the municipality of Nittenau in the district of Regensburg.

It runs in a southerly direction to the height of Altenthann. From here, the route continues in a southeasterly direction and west past Brennberg to Frauenzell.

From Frauenzell, the route will continue in a south-westerly direction. Here it runs past Wiesent and east of Wörth an der Donau.

It crosses the Danube north-west of Pfatter and ends at Pfatter in the district of Regensburg.
