Everyone is talking about HENNIG´s high-quality products. The first agencies are established abroad. 1952 The company is relocated to a former bus garage. The staff consists of 14 persons. 1953 HENNIG continues to grow. More premises are rented on the first floor of a former warehouse. There is an important milestone in the HENNIG chronicle: HENNIG manufactures its first telescopic steel covers. 1959 The construction of a new building in Ismaning near Munich starts in spring, and the company moves into the new premises in the fall. 1965 The company is again bursting at the seams - a new multi-storey building is added. 1969 On Dec. 9th, the oHG is transformed into a GmbH. 1975 More than a million HENNIG telescopic steel covers have already been delivered worldwide. The company employs a staff of 230 persons. 18 agencies in 21 industrialized countries maintain close contact with machine manufacturers. 1990 HENNIG also feels the worldwide recession in the machine tool branch. The staff is gradually reduced from 400 to 160 persons. The production program is also adapted to the changed requirements: Chip conveyors, machine enclosures and plastic cable chains are eliminated from the range of products. 1999 Opening of production facilities in Uvaly near Prague. 80 persons work for the Czech branch. 2000 In December, move to new premises in Kirchheim, east of Munich. With this move, the complete production is modernized and reshaped. HENNIG invests in new machines and equipment, among others, a high-speed test bench. In the last five to six years, various new patents have been granted, e.g. for C6 and high-speed covers, to name just a few. In the meantime, HENNIG has become a member of the GOELLNER Group/Rockford Il./USA. 2001 HENNIG presents itself with a completely new look at the world´s largest machine tool exhibition, the EMO in Hanover. HENNIG continuously keeps expanding its worldwide presence. Subsidiary companies and partners in the Czech Republic, India, Brazil, England, the USA and Japan as well as 25 agencies from Africa to Sweden ensure convenient and complete machine protection. 2002 With nearly double the production and office space, we are going to adapt the production and engineering capacities of our Czech branch, the HENNIG CZ in Uvaly near Prague, to meet the requirements of the market. This also includes again opening our own mechanical production facilities for components and spare parts. The extensive investment in buildings and machines will be completed by November. 2003 India: Major investment in Sur Hennig Ltd. Bangalore/India: Construction of a new manufacturing facility. Doubling of the production capacity for wiper systems, flexible aprons, roll-up covers, stabiflex cable and hose carriers and flex protect systems, including installation of production bellows manufacturing. 2004 Czech Republic: We start our own manufacturing workshop for components used in our range of products. Hence we will be independent from sub-suppliers and have more flexibility. 2005 With the completion of the ISO Audit at Sur Hennig, India, in August 2005, all of Global Hennig’s subsidiaries and partner groups are now certified according to DIN-ISO 9001/2000. Our design office at Kirchheim, together with all other subsidiaries and partners, have switched to 3-D software (Solidworks). They can now easily exchange design information electronically with all our customers and partners using this state-of-the-art software. In the late fall, we started direct selling to our Eastern European customers from our factory in Prague, Hennig CZ. 2006 Our new license partner O-Sung Mechatronics in South Korea is producing XY-modules and Telscoping Steel Covers.

This location near Hohenlimburg, the heart of the European cold rolling industry, proved to be well-chosen. Only a few years later nearly all mills in that area as well as in the nearby “Ruhrgebiet” were using Vollmer gauges type VBM 1063, of which several thousand are still operating worldwide today. In quick succession subsidiary companies were opened in most European neighbor countries, then in the US and in Japan. 20 years later Vollmer-Shanghai was launched, being the largest Asian Vollmer subsidiary. The Shanghai branch covers the promising Chinese market, run by a staff of Chinese service engineers and keeping in stock a large inventory of spare parts. A worldwide network of representatives and service facilities ensure that Vollmer customers receive professional technical support quickly. 3 men started in 1965, today a total of 180 people work for the company. The parent company in Hagen employs 90 people, the others work in the national and international branches. Additionally, there are 20 independent international representatives. 400 and more projects are annually processed through Berchum and installed on-site. Besides our contact gauges, which are used as sensors for automatic control of a large variety of industrial processes, we also produce non-contact gauges.
