Description

Project Name: Procurement of Non-Destructive Testing Equipment for Concrete Inspection

Procuring Agency: Division of Engineering Geology, Faculty of Engineering (LTH), Lund University

Project Background: As one of Sweden's top higher education institutions, the Division of Engineering Geology within Lund University's Faculty of Engineering has long been engaged in teaching and research in areas such as building material properties, structural health monitoring, and geotechnical engineering. This procurement aims to update and expand laboratory equipment to support undergraduate laboratory teaching and postgraduate research projects, enhancing teaching and R&D capabilities in non-destructive testing technologies for concrete materials.

List of Procured Goods:

Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Measurement System:

Purpose: To measure the propagation velocity of ultrasonic pulses in concrete, assessing concrete uniformity, elastic modulus, and potential defects.

Configuration Requirements: Must be equipped with various types of probes suitable for laboratory experiments, including but not limited to standard frequency probes (e.g., 54 kHz) and low-frequency probes, to accommodate concrete specimens of different thicknesses and aggregate sizes. The system should include a signal generator, amplifier, data acquisition unit, and supporting analysis software, supporting waveform display and automatic data analysis functions.

Concrete Cover Thickness Gauge (Rebar Detector):

Purpose: For non-destructive detection of rebar position, orientation, diameter, and cover thickness in concrete structures.

Technical Requirements: Equipped with high-sensitivity sensors capable of detecting deep-seated rebar; supports data storage and export functions, capable of generating rebar distribution maps; suitable for laboratory specimens and on-site structural inspection.

Impact-Echo Testing Equipment:

Purpose: For detecting internal defects in concrete (such as voids, delamination, cracks) and thickness assessment, based on the principle of stress wave reflection.

System Composition: Includes an impact source (e.g., steel ball or electromagnetic impactor), broadband receiving sensor, data acquisition system, and dedicated analysis software. The equipment should be capable of performing thickness measurement and defect localization in single-sided testing mode.

Rebound Hammer:

Purpose: For rapid assessment of concrete surface hardness, thereby inferring concrete compressive strength.

Specification Requirements: Compliant with international standards (e.g., ASTM C805 or EN 12504-2), equipped with digital display or mechanical pointer reading, capable of storing multiple sets of test data, and supporting data transfer to computers for subsequent analysis.

Main CPV Code: 38410000-2 (Measuring instruments)

Additional CPV Codes: 38230000-6 (Electromagnetic geophysical instruments), 38434220-4 (Sound velocity measuring apparatus)

Contract Type: Goods Procurement

Estimated Value: 400,000.00 Swedish Krona (approximately 38,000 Euros, subject to real-time exchange rates)

Place of Performance: Faculty of Engineering Laboratories, Lund University, Skåne County, Sweden (NUTS code: SE224)

Contract Duration: March 31, 2026 to March 31, 2027 (one-year contract). Equipment must be delivered as soon as possible after the contract takes effect; specific delivery schedules can be proposed by bidders in their tenders.

Scope of Services and Supplier Responsibilities:

The supplier is responsible for equipment supply, transportation, on-site installation, commissioning, and operational training.

Provide detailed technical documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and calibration certificates.

Provide a warranty period of at least one year, covering free repair or replacement of non-manually damaged parts.

Provide long-term technical support and spare parts supply services.

Acceptance Criteria: After the equipment arrives at the designated Lund University laboratory, installation and functional testing will be conducted to ensure all performance indicators meet technical specification requirements. Upon successful acceptance, a final acceptance report will be signed.
