Product Overview:

The LGO-01 atmospheric ozone detection lidar is based on the differential absorption principle. The laser emission unit emits a pair of closely spaced wavelength laser pulses into the atmosphere, with one wavelength in the strong ozone absorption band (λon) and the other in the weak ozone absorption band (λoff). Since the two laser wavelengths are very close, the scattering effects from other atmospheric molecules and particles are considered consistent. Thus, the difference in energy attenuation between the two beams is primarily due to ozone absorption. The atmospheric ozone concentration profile can be retrieved based on the intensity of the echo signals from the two laser beams.
