The GN10-24/5000, 6300, 8000A type indoor high-voltage isolating switch is a double-column vertical opening single-break isolating switch, designed for use in power supply systems with a rated voltage of 24kV, specified for three-phase (or single-phase) AC 50Hz (or 60Hz) indoor installations. It is used for switching indoor high-voltage equipment under voltage but no-load conditions, and for electrically isolating high-voltage electrical equipment such as high-voltage busbars and circuit breakers under maintenance from live high-voltage lines. Additionally, it is used to change the system's operating mode, switching busbar conversion currents and small currents within the specified range, such as those for voltage transformers and lightning arresters.

The GN10-24/5000, 6300, 8000 type isolating switch consists of a base, pillar insulators, and conductive parts. The static contact is composed of two 90° right-angle copper plates (lined with a contact support) to ensure the strength of the static contact. The switch blade consists of four channel-shaped copper plates, arranged in upper and lower layers on both sides of the static contact. The pillar insulators are made of epoxy resin casting, significantly enhancing the mechanical strength of the isolating switch.

When the operating mechanism is activated, it drives the main shaft on the isolating switch base to rotate, and through the movement of the insulating operating plate, the switch blade can perform opening and closing operations.
