The outstanding characteristics of the VSC 7 from EMAG are the successful combination of sophisticated technology and highest quality on the one hand and low capital outlay, minimal footprint and optimal economic viability on the other.VSC 7 – the production machine The VSC 7 is equipped with recirculating workpiece storage conveyor, which – together with the pick-up spindle – ensures that the machine loads and unloads itself. No matter whether the operator is taking a break or it is time for a shift change, the VSC 7 keeps on producing. Another clear advantage is the machine’s small footprint, a result of its vertical construction. Machining, automation and gauging – all on a single machineAutomatic workpiece changeover in the shortest possible time Integrated automation, less capital outlay In-process gauging Short machining and loading travels, thus shorter cycle times High degree of availability Ideal chip flow conditions, with the chips falling to the bottom Very short chip-to-chip times Small footprint Design and composition of the VSC 7 vertical turning center correspond to the other, well proven vertical turning centers of the VSC series from EMAG. It features the same machine base in MINERALIT® polymer granite, a material with outstanding vibration damping properties. This increases tool life and makes for excellent surface finishes. The machine base carries the overhead slide with the vertical main spindle. The whole creates symmetric force distribution and guarantees great rigidity. Spindle motor, main spindle and quill, turret, electrical cabinet and machine base are all fluid-cooled. A twin-circuit cooling system maintains the machine temperature within strict limits of the ambient temperature, eliminating inaccuracies caused by temperature fluctuations. That milling and drilling operations are rigid and low in vibrations is the result of the hydro-static bearing of the Y-axis quill, the 160 mm diameter of the front spindle bearing and the sturdy tool receptors in the turret.
