The grinding wheel and control wheel infeeds are freely programmable, independant and decoupled NC. The manual swivelable control wheel slide (+10°/-7.5°) enables both time efficient and convenient correction of the workpiece cylindricity. Furthermore, it facilitates angular infeed grinding as a special procedure for the complete manufacturing of plan shoulders and diameters. For cylindrical plunge grinding, a grinding width of 127mm is available, while for angular infeed grinding the width is 90mm. The machine provides single, dual and triple-track grinding, depending on the workpiece length and loading system. The grinding and control wheels have bearings on one side and can be installed from the operator’s side. The dressing system (patent has been applied for) guarantees a straightness of ≤ 1µm over a length of 127mm. Furthermore, measuring systems and peripheral devices for loading and unloading can be installed on the machine front, the rear side and on the grinding and control wheel spindle head. Finally, the extremely stable machine base includes a welded structure that is partly filled with special Hydropol® concrete.
