These grinding machines, like the ones of the R160 series, are equipped with a device for crown grinding, through which, during grinding operation, its possible to have a micrometric in-feed motion without moving the wheelhead on guideways, in order to assure absolute precision and greatest accuracy in wheel cross motion. By using such a system, we achieve with the same precision and ease, on straight, convex or concave cylinders, the degree of finishing and absolute precision required by todays technical needs. The swivelling wheelhead for tapers,allows to longitudinally grind workpieces that have up tp 10° of taper. We use to equip also this grinding machine series with the Siemens 840D numerical control, with quite the same characteristics of the 160 series.
