micropoly is a deburring and polishing process for electrically conductive material. the part to be treated is connected as an anode (positive pole) in a direct current circuit. the part is either put in an electrolyte (e......micropoly is a deburring and polishing process for electrically conductive material. the part to be treated is connected as an anode (positive pole) in a direct current circuit. the part is either put in an electrolyte (electrically conductive fluid) or in a special tool through which electrolyte is pumped. voltage and time are the most important parameters for process control. fine adjustments can be made by controlling the temperature and pulsing the power. during the process the surface of the part is removed at a rate of ~ 0.01 mm/minute. the micropoly method is repeatable and therefore this can be taken into consideration during the design work in order to meet close tolerances. threads are normally no problem. the method is suitable for series production. parts with external burrs require simple tools if they require tools at all, for which reason the method can be used for short series as well.
