In association with VirtualGrind®Pro, the wheel changer offers the ability to manufacture different tool geometries without any operator intervention whatsoever. An ultra compact design allows for simultaneous changing of the wheel packs during the tool loading/unloading cycle in order to minimize dwell times, resulting in increased productivity. The associated coolant lines are mounted directly to the flange assemblies and exchanged with the wheel pack in order to maintain precise, repetitive placement at the point of grinding contact to ensure optimal cooling for each operation. The GrindSmart®XW are also equipped with a new, highly efficient, synchronous spindle motor offering 14kW of power and 23Nm of torque to allow for deep flute grinding. A flange indexing system ensures that the grinding wheel assembly is always mounted in the same position, while a newly designed HSK50 wheel flange guarantees concentricity of less than 0.002 mm (.00008") each and every time the grinding wheel is changed.
