The shear ball seat is used to match the tail pipe under the hydraulically set packer. After the completion string is seated at the wellhead, the sealing ball is put into the tubing. After the ball is seated, the tubing is pressurized to set the packer, and the pressure is continued to shear the ball seat. The ball seat has the function of a wire cable guide shoe, and can provide a flat shoe with a chamfer or a semi-slope shoe.
