Wedoany.com Report on Mar 4th, U.S. solar contractor GreenLancer is adopting SolarGrade software to enhance the efficiency of its residential and commercial solar field services. This move aims to support solar projects that cannot be completed or receive ongoing operations and maintenance due to the original installer going out of business.
GreenLancer Chief Operating Officer Pat McCabe said: "We chose SolarGrade because its software platform incorporates a deep understanding of solar PV quality. Unlike other applications we've tested, SolarGrade is designed specifically for solar field technicians and office teams, ensuring service calls are executed correctly."
Since launching its nationwide home solar repair service in August 2025, GreenLancer has built a network of nearly 200 field service partners, focusing on addressing the O&M issues of orphaned PV systems.
GreenLancer Field Service Director Lauren Durbin pointed out: "Fast, accurate field work is crucial for businesses and homeowners with non-operational PV systems. At the same time, various jurisdictions and financiers have complex requirements that must be met before system commissioning. The SolarGrade application helps enforce these requirements while maintaining the efficiency and consistency of field operations."
The SolarGrade platform manages a database of documents related to solar project commissioning and maintenance, storing component, warranty, and permit data, which plays a critical role in O&M work.
SolarGrade CEO and Co-founder David Penalva commented: "When solar and storage field work is neglected or poorly documented, it often leads to costly failures. SolarGrade eliminates these oversights. As GreenLancer's software provider, we support their work in transforming orphaned systems into high-performing assets."
