Wedoany.com Report on Mar 4th, Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan announced the launch of a national plan aimed at establishing a modern network of cold storage warehouses across the country. This plan was proposed following discussions at the "Agricultural Dialogue-2026" forum and aims to reduce crop losses and enhance the export potential of Kyrgyzstan.
The project aims to address one of the main challenges faced by local farmers: the lack of high-quality storage conditions for harvested produce. Establishing modern logistics hubs that meet international standards will ensure the long-term preservation of the commercial appearance of vegetables and fruits, thereby expanding opportunities for their processing and external sales.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan noted that the project implementation will be based on the principle of public-private partnership. The state will be responsible for the entire project process, from design and construction to facility certification and inventory management consulting. It is expected that such infrastructure will not only improve the country's food security but also create new job opportunities in various regions.
According to experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, the introduction of modern storage technologies will significantly increase the income of agricultural producers by eliminating seasonal losses. Furthermore, maintaining stable domestic product inventories in Kyrgyzstan will help stabilize price fluctuations and reduce the prices of vegetables and fruits in the market.
