With a capacity of 250 megawatts/500 megawatt-hours, this project was awarded by a major local independent power producer and marks Sorigin's first battery energy storage project in the region.

The project comprises two installations located in Giral and Suratgarh, each with a capacity of 125 MW/250 MWh. These facilities are designed to enhance grid stability, effectively manage peak electricity demand, and support the integration of renewable energy sources. Through this layout, the project will help Rajasthan optimize its power system and advance clean energy development.

Sorigin will be responsible for providing comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction services, covering all aspects from design to completion. The company stated that winning this bid signifies its business expansion in the energy storage sector and is expected to promote local energy storage infrastructure development, providing support for India's energy transition. Upon completion, the project will enhance the regional grid's regulation capabilities, help balance the intermittency of renewable energy generation, and improve power supply reliability.
