en.Wedoany.com Report, On March 27, the double-track project of the second phase of the Xing County to Baode County Railway in Shanxi Province, specifically the Watang to Fengjiachuan section (hereinafter referred to as the "Xingbao Railway Double-Track Line"), opened for trial operation. This adds strong momentum to enhancing the quality and efficiency of the national strategic corridor for "West-to-East Coal Transport".

The Xingbao Railway Double-Track Line project is a key provincial initiative to improve coal transportation capacity. The line spans 21.8 kilometers and is constructed according to the National Railway Grade I electrified heavy-haul railway standards. China Railway Third Bureau Group Co., Ltd. is responsible for the civil engineering works of 14.129 kilometers and the tasks of beam erection and track laying for the entire line.

Located in the gully region of the Loess Plateau, the project area features complex geological conditions and a high proportion of bridges and tunnels. The managed section includes a total of 6 tunnels, with a combined length of 7,206 meters, accounting for 81% of the total tunnel length of the entire line.

The Xinzhangjiacun Tunnel is the controlling project of the entire line. With a total length of 2,812 meters, it is the longest tunnel on the line. The tunnel passes through complex strata such as silty clay and coarse sandy soil. The loess soil is loose with weak cohesion and extremely poor self-stability, resulting in significant construction difficulty and high safety risks.

Wang Cheng, Project Manager of the China Railway Third Bureau project department, explained: "The project team innovatively adopted the 'steel anchor pipe pile + cement-soil compaction pile' ground reinforcement technology, combined with the advanced pipe roof and small pipe grouting joint support method. This constructs a 'steel umbrella'-type pre-support barrier ahead of the tunnel face, further enhancing the integrity and stability of the surrounding rock. The construction introduced a single-arm roadheader for excavation operations, which greatly reduced disturbance to the surrounding rock and safely achieved the tunnel breakthrough."

During construction, the project department focused on the overall goals of "beam erection and track laying," scientifically formulated a "one-beam, one-strategy" construction plan, strictly implemented the leadership shift duty and on-site full-process monitoring system, safely and orderly advanced the project construction, and achieved the goal of opening to traffic on schedule.
