Repsol Resumes Exploration Drilling in Libya After a 10-Year Hiatus

Wedoany.com Report-Jan 3, Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported yesterday (31 December 2024) that Spanish oil company Repsol has resumed exploration activity in the Murzuq Basin after a hiatus of more than a decade – starting in 2014.
The NOC continued, Repsol started drilling operations in the exploratory well (A1=2/130) (Muamal Niser/Eagle).
The formation of the wells will also be tested, and its final depth will be 6,050 feet. The well is 800 kilometres from the capital Tripoli, while the Sharara oil field is only 12 kilometres away, the NOC added.
