Specific initiatives include: promoting sustainability in the apparel sector and assisting factories in meeting new EU market requirements regarding supply chain due diligence, traceability, circular economy, and decarbonization, while further strengthening the Responsible Business Helpdesk (RBH); providing technical support for advanced chemical management, pollution reduction, and compliance with international environmental standards; enhancing energy efficiency through regular audits and renewable energy skills training; establishing a digital database to support worker social security and upgrading workforce skills for sustainable employment; creating a digital marketplace to improve transparency in textile waste management and integrate new technologies through strategic partnerships; and expanding the "Shokti Konya" network to encourage more women to take on engineering and management roles in the garment sector.
The signing ceremony was also attended by BGMEA Vice President Vidya Amrit Khan, Vice President Mohammed Rafiq Chowdhury, and GIZ Bangladesh STILE II Project Manager Michael Klode, among others.
