en.Wedoany.com Reported - Alexander Kozlov (Александр Козлов), Minister of Natural Resources of Russia, told TASS (ТАСС) that the country holds approximately 2 billion tons of manganese ore reserves, but developing these resources requires efficient industrial beneficiation and processing technologies. The Niyazgulovo-1 deposit (Ниязгуловское-1) in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Республика Башкортостан) has already achieved industrial production, with an output of 145,000 tons in 2023.

According to data from the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia (Минприроды РФ), as of January 1, 2024, the balance sheet reserves of manganese ore across 27 deposits in Russia stood at 283.2 million tons, while two other deposits recorded only off-balance sheet reserves. The total off-balance sheet reserves nationwide amount to approximately 22 million tons.

Additionally, the Zaporozhye region (Запорожская область) and the Kherson region (Херсонская область) also possess manganese ore resources. The Bolshoye-Tokmak deposit (Больше-Токмакское) in the former has estimated reserves of 1.7266 billion tons, while the Fedorovskoye deposit (Фёдоровское) in the latter has estimated reserves of 34.1 million tons.

Kozlov noted that the Parnokskoye deposit (Парнокское) in the Komi Republic (Республика Коми) is planned to begin development in 2030. At the Usinskoye deposit (Усинское) in the Kemerovo region (Кемеровская область), geological exploration is underway alongside trial industrial production, while the timeline and parameters for full-scale industrial production will be determined based on exploration results. Separately, Metaltorg.ru added that the assets of the bankrupt closed joint-stock company "CHEK-SU.VK" (ЗАО «ЧЕК-СУ.ВК»), which previously managed the Usinskoye deposit development project, were auctioned off in April 2024.

Regarding the Bolshoye-Tokmak deposit in Zaporozhye, the minister confirmed that a new investor has entered the project and will conduct geological exploration work in the coming years.
