en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) announced that it is hosting the '2026 Korea Virtual Convergence Industry Expo (KMF)' at Hall B on the first floor of COEX in Seoul until the 12th, providing a platform to share the latest XR technologies and industrial strategies.

Now in its 11th year, the event is held under the slogan 'Beyond Boundaries, Toward a New Reality' and features 140 companies with 270 booths. The exhibition includes an XR smart glasses experience zone and a conference with domestic and international speakers from NVIDIA, Unity, and others, showcasing the current state and future of the XR industry.

The expo is divided into four pavilions: the Governance Pavilion showcases achievements from government, public institutions, academia, and industry; the Business Pavilion features technologies from leading and promising companies in the virtual convergence field; the Innovation Pavilion gathers companies recognized on global stages such as CES and MWC; and the Experience Pavilion allows visitors to directly experience cutting-edge technologies.

Exhibits include a digital twin-based VR truck safety experience center, AR smart glasses optical modules, a haptic cinema viewing system, and braille tactile pads. Companies such as VREVER VR, LetinAR, InnoSimulation, and DOT are showcasing their key technologies.

This year's event features a special 'XR Smart Glasses Experience Zone' where visitors can try products from South Korean companies like P&C Solution and SysLab, as well as XREAL AR glasses, the 'Galaxy XR' jointly developed by Samsung Electronics, Google, and Qualcomm, Meta's 'Ray-Ban Meta', and Apple Vision Pro.

Within the experience zone, an 'XR Mini Museum' is also operated, allowing visitors to view the 30-year development history of XR devices, from Nintendo's Virtual Boy in 1995 to the latest devices.

On the first day of the event, the 10th, a job fair was held with participation from eight promising companies in the virtual convergence field. Services provided included special lectures on AI and XR careers, corporate recruitment briefings, one-on-one job consultations, and AI mock interview experiences.

The global conference, running until the 11th, features 10 domestic and international speakers from NVIDIA, Asteria Moonbely, Native Foreign, and others. They will deliver presentations on topics such as AI-XR convergence, technological changes in the spatial computing era, and AI-driven content innovation.

On the same day, the 11th, an investment market will be held to support investment attraction and commercialization for virtual convergence startups. Twenty investment institutions are participating, aiming to conduct 50 one-on-one investment meetings, along with public IR presentations and investment consultations.

Yoo Je-myung, Second Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated that the combination of AI and XR is not just a technological innovation but a core driver for creating new value in industry and daily life. The government will actively support XR technology, together with AI, to create new realities and bring growth opportunities in various fields such as education, manufacturing, culture, and healthcare.
