en.Wedoany.com Reported - PJSC Rostelecom has announced the creation of the Artificial Intelligence Scaling Center (ЦМИИ), an open alliance aimed at integrating infrastructure, technology, expertise, and market demand to promote the industrial application of AI solutions in key sectors of the Russian economy. The founding members of the alliance also include the Skolkovo Foundation, InBoost, Manaraga, Guardora, Chaytex, Chatme.AI, and KIT, with plans to welcome more tech companies and large enterprise clients interested in AI development. The launch platform for ЦМИИ is Fazum, a company under the X.Technology digital cluster.
The agreement to establish ЦМИИ was signed at the annual industry event "Architectural Council," hosted by the X.Technology digital cluster, which annually brings together key players in the Russian AI market, including IT developers, infrastructure and investment partners, scientists, and large enterprise clients.
The core mission of ЦМИИ is to help Russian enterprises overcome systemic barriers currently hindering the industrial application of artificial intelligence, including talent shortages, limited infrastructure, fragmented demand, and a lack of sustainable investment models. By consolidating resources, utilizing unified infrastructure, reusing technologies and capabilities, and jointly accessing the large client market, the center plans to implement AI solutions faster, cheaper, and more predictably than individual participants acting alone.
The center's scope of activities covers multiple areas: AI consulting (including process diagnostics, economic benefit calculations, and deployment strategy development), development and operation of AI platforms (including a library of typical industry solutions), forming product teams working at client sites, providing secure hardware and software systems for on-premises infrastructure deployment, as well as capability transfer and talent training.
Dmitry Reidman, Head of the X.Technology Cluster and Director of Digital Business Development at Rostelecom, stated: "By creating the AI alliance, we are playing the role of an architect for a new open ecosystem built according to the 'Build-Operate-Transfer' model. The Artificial Intelligence Scaling Center will operate as a commercial organization dedicated to creating value for all participants. We invite leading tech companies and clients to join this effort to jointly address the strategic tasks of developing the Russian AI market and enhance the competitiveness of the national economy on a global level."
Pavel Novikov, Managing Director of the Expertise Center at the Skolkovo Foundation, said: "The open innovation model is the best way to globally seek, develop, and deploy advanced technologies. We are ready to contribute our expertise by collaborating with technology leaders, partners, and Skolkovo residents, as well as leading research centers at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Phystech), to create an open AI development and scaling alliance. The emergence of such an alliance significantly increases Russia's chances of implementing a strategy for accelerated AI adaptation. I particularly emphasize the enormous potential of Skolkovo's 6,000 startups in creating and deploying AI—they are a key driver of innovation across various industries and sectors."
