Wedoany.com Report-Feb 28, Qualitas Energy has acquired four wind farms in Germany as part of a repowering effort.
The four wind energy projects are in Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony-Anhalt.
As part of a targeted turbine repowering, the total capacity of the wind farms will be increased from their total capacity of 10MW to a total capacity of 34MW.
This repowering follows other projects that the company has announced in recent months, including the acquisition of a wind farm with 32 wind turbines on the German North Sea coast, which will reach a capacity of 21.6MW after repowering.
"With this transaction, we are expanding our wind energy project pipeline and strengthening our commitment to providing innovative energy solutions in close cooperation with local communities," said Johannes Overbeck, Co-CEO of Qualitas Energy Deutschland.
"By modernizing older wind farms, we are not only increasing energy efficiency, but also making a long-term contribution to security of supply and a sustainable energy supply for future wind farms."
