en.Wedoany.com Reported - Rosatom's automation control systems company (JSC "RASU", responsible for process control systems and electrical technologies) and Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University (LETI) have jointly launched the "Internet of Things and Intelligent Technologies for Industrial Automation" educational program. The goal is to train professional engineers capable of developing and implementing process automation control system (ACS TP) solutions, equipping them with skills in classical control systems, SCADA environments, and new intelligent tools. This information was disclosed to CNews by a representative of Rosatom.

The program is implemented under the "Electronics and Electrical Technologies" direction at the LETI Advanced Engineering School (PISH LETI), with supervision led by JSC "RASU". The launch coincides with LETI's 140th anniversary, highlighting the close integration of the university's engineering education traditions with current industrial needs, especially amid the growing importance of combining process automation control systems with IoT technologies.

The project will establish two new laboratories: a Trusted Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) laboratory and an Intelligent Industrial Automation laboratory. Students will learn to design software for process automation control systems, apply artificial intelligence methods to process telemetry data—including optimization for embedded devices—and develop digital twins of technological processes. Graduates can work as development engineers for process automation control systems based on embedded AI and AI agents, software development supervisors for process automation control systems and SCADA systems, or participate in Rosatom projects in industries such as nuclear energy, where modern automation solutions are in high demand.

Andrey Butko, General Director of JSC "RASU", stated that the industry urgently needs young engineers who can quickly master new automation tools, proficiently handle data, and understand the logic of technological processes. Such talent will help improve production efficiency and accelerate engineering problem-solving. The joint project with LETI is precisely aimed at training experts capable of creating modern automation systems for various Rosatom projects.

Viktor Sheludko, Rector of Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University (LETI), noted that the "Advanced Engineering School" project is crucial for establishing long-term relationships between the university and its partners. In the "Electronics and Electrical Technologies" direction of the LETI Advanced Engineering School, several Rosatom enterprises, particularly JSC "RASU", play a leading role. As LETI celebrates its 140th anniversary, both sides reviewed the contributions of university scientists and alumni in physics and engineering, and formulated plans for curriculum development and the creation of modern teaching spaces in the near future. The joint launch of the new educational program with JSC "RASU" represents a new step in strengthening cooperation between Rosatom and the university to cultivate technical talent. Enrollment for the first cohort will begin this year.
