HPE expands GreenLake with agentic AI and private cloud

At the core of this release is GreenLake Intelligence, which HPE describes as an agentic AI framework for hybrid cloud and AI operations. The framework includes a central registry for AI agents, orchestration tools, and governance controls for managing agents across infrastructure, applications, and operational workflows.

HPE is also introducing new features within the OpsRamp Operations Copilot in GreenLake Intelligence. This software enables IT teams to view the usage of AI agents and large language models, including monitoring AI usage, token-based consumption, and operational costs across AI factories and workloads.

OpsRamp Operations Copilot correlates full-stack telemetry data and uses agentic root cause analysis to identify issues. HPE has partnered with ServiceNow to integrate GreenLake Intelligence with ServiceNow's autonomous AI tools for service delivery.

Fidelma Russo, HPE Executive Vice President, General Manager and Chief Technology Officer of Hybrid Cloud, stated that as enterprises scale AI, they need a simpler way to govern AI infrastructure and modernize operations across hybrid environments to avoid fragmentation and unpredictable costs. She noted that this update provides enterprises with a proven, unified path for current agentic hybrid operations and lays the foundation for future autonomous operations.

On the virtualization front, HPE positions Morpheus Software as an alternative for enterprises evaluating their existing virtualized assets. The software uses a per-slot subscription model, combining self-service provisioning with observability and operational tools for hybrid cloud environments. New features include Morpheus Orchestration Copilot, which automates multi-step provisioning and orchestration workflows; customers can use their own AI models within a framework that includes governance and security controls. HPE has launched Morpheus Central through GreenLake, providing visibility, governance, and management across multiple Morpheus deployments. Software-defined networking capabilities are now generally available, supporting stretched clusters across two active sites. Zerto Software enables workload migration from VMware environments to HPE virtual machines and provides continuous data protection, part of HPE's broader effort to attract customers seeking to reduce the cost and risk of platform migration.

HPE and Citrix plan to deepen their partnership in private cloud and virtualization. The initial focus is on making Citrix Desktop-as-a-Service available on GreenLake to meet on-premises and sovereign deployment needs. The two companies also plan to integrate Citrix Desktop-as-a-Service and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops with Morpheus Software and HPE CloudOps, consolidating orchestration, automation, and observability in GreenLake hybrid deployments.

On the private cloud portfolio side, HPE has built and expanded a single control plane across edge and data center environments based on Morpheus, adding standardized air-gapped deployment options for disconnected, regulated, and sovereign use cases. Private Cloud PC3000 supports air-gapped deployments across edge and core environments and is validated with vSphere 9, with Morpheus providing management of HPE virtual machines and containers on the same platform. Private Cloud PC7000 supports infrastructure as code and automated private cloud operations via Terraform, is validated with vSphere 9, and its air-gapped deployment readiness has achieved Department of Defense Impact Level 4 certification.

On the commercial front, HPE has introduced a migration program to reduce the financial risk of migrating from existing virtualization platforms. New Morpheus Software VM Essentials customers can receive up to one year of VM Essentials licenses for free, one year of Zerto for $1, and zero-interest financing for software through HPE Financial Services. CloudOps Software for cloud service providers helps build and run private cloud services through multi-tenancy, self-service, software-defined networking, policy governance, and cost management. The GreenLake platform has added a new interface combining hybrid observability, IT sustainability information, and consumption analysis, and the Marketplace now supports direct transactions for third-party software.

Products now available include OpsRamp Operations Copilot, CloudOps Software for cloud service providers, and the updated GreenLake Marketplace. Air-gapped versions of HPE Private Cloud PC3000 and PC7000 are expected to launch in the third quarter of 2026.
