en.Wedoany.com Reported - Portuguese renewable energy developer Hyperion Renewables has signed a hybrid wind-solar power purchase agreement with Spanish integrated energy company Repsol. The Portuguese hybrid PPA will supply 140 GWh of electricity annually for a period of 10 years, with operations scheduled to commence in 2028.

The agreement covers two renewable energy projects: a solar photovoltaic power plant in the municipality of Estremoz, Portugal, and a wind farm in the municipality of Sousel. Both projects are located in the Évora district in southeastern Portugal. Once operational, Repsol will purchase the wind and solar power under the agreement to support the renewable energy share in its own electricity consumption structure.

Hyperion Renewables stated that the projects are expected to help Repsol avoid more than 23,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually. With the signing of the 140 GWh hybrid PPA, Portugal's wind power, solar power, long-term PPAs, and corporate green electricity procurement markets will continue to generate new project opportunities, also driving subsequent demand for grid connection, operation and maintenance, and electricity trading services.
