en.Wedoany.com Reported - The World Economic Forum (WEF) has announced the latest batch of global "Lighthouse Factories," with Qingdao CIMC Reefer Container Manufacture Co., Ltd. selected as the only enterprise under CIMC Group and the first in the global container industry to receive this honor.

The "Lighthouse Factory" network, jointly promoted by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company, serves as a benchmark for digital transformation and smart manufacturing upgrades, aiming to identify manufacturing enterprises that have pioneered large-scale deployment of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and achieved significant benefits. Currently, there are only 238 such factories worldwide.

Kiva Allgood, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, stated that the latest batch of "Lighthouse Factories" demonstrates the deep integration of smart technologies and operations, enabling enterprises to respond more quickly, continuously learn, and improve value chain performance. Regarding Qingdao CIMC Reefer Container Manufacture, she noted that global trade fluctuations and higher demands for product insulation and durability have challenged traditional reefer container manufacturing models. By implementing over 50 digital applications and artificial intelligence solutions to optimize resource allocation and production processes, the factory has reduced manufacturing cycle time by 32% and defect rate by 47%.

These figures are based on fundamental improvements to the factory's manufacturing ecosystem, shifting from experience-driven to data-driven operations and from single-machine optimization to full-system collaboration, making reefer container production more efficient and stable, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of critical goods such as fresh produce and pharmaceuticals.

Pan Jinjie, Chief Information Officer of CIMC Group, stated that in recent years, the group has focused on building a "Digital CIMC, Intelligent CIMC," applying digital technologies, smart equipment, the Industrial Internet, artificial intelligence, and sustainable manufacturing to more scenarios, while continuously cultivating globally leading products supported by advanced production lines. Currently, CIMC has established one national-level smart manufacturing demonstration factory, two national-level smart manufacturing excellence factories, and eight national 5G factories, with advanced manufacturing capabilities becoming a new growth engine. Pan Jinjie added that receiving the "Lighthouse Factory" recognition will drive CIMC to extend its digital and smart manufacturing experience to other business segments.

Nian Junlai, Vice President of CIMC Container Group and General Manager of Qingdao CIMC Reefer Container Manufacture, stated that the factory will take the "Lighthouse Factory" as a new starting point to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, and automation technologies, driving the improvement of global container manufacturing standards.
