en.Wedoany.com Reported - On June 29, the first unit of the Shangyi Pumped Storage Power Station in Hebei, developed by Harbin Electric Machinery Company Limited (HEC Motor), officially entered commercial operation after completing a 15-day trial run with excellent performance indicators. This marks the beginning of green electricity transmission from Zhangjiakou's first pumped storage power station to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

On the same day, a ceremony was held at the power station site to mark the commissioning of the first unit. Leaders from Huayuan Electric Power Co., Ltd., Shangyi Huahao Pumped Storage Power Generation Co., Ltd., and various participating construction units attended to witness the unit's power generation. Liu Dengfeng, Deputy General Manager of HEC Motor, participated in the ceremony.
Located in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, the Shangyi Pumped Storage Power Station is a key project under China's 13th Five-Year Plan and an important component of the "battery" with a capacity of tens of millions of kilowatts in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The station is equipped with four pumped storage units, each with a single-unit capacity of 350,000 kilowatts, all developed by HEC Motor. Once operational, the station will significantly enhance the security of power supply in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, improve the safety, reliability, and economic efficiency of the power system, promote new energy consumption, and contribute to achieving the "dual carbon" goals.

The vertical drop between the upper and lower reservoirs of the station reaches 449 meters, imposing high demands on the reliability and stability of the units. HEC Motor assembled a dedicated team of technical experts to tackle challenges. In the development of Unit 1, they adopted a runner with long and short blades, a one-piece forged magnet yoke design, and applied multiple high-precision manufacturing and processing techniques to ensure the unit can respond quickly and operate stably under both pumping and generating conditions.
During the on-site installation and commissioning phase, HEC Motor dispatched additional service personnel and technical experts to the frontline, working closely with all participating construction units to complete a series of rigorous tests under pumping and generating conditions, laying the foundation for the successful commissioning of the first unit.

HEC Motor stated that it will implement the "six guarantees" work requirements of Harbin Electric Corporation, continue to cooperate with the installation and commissioning of the subsequent three units, and ensure that all units are put into operation on schedule with high quality.
