en.Wedoany.com Reported - Konecranes has secured a new order for 23 forklift trucks from a Chilean mining customer, which will be used for logistics operations at a large copper mine in the northern part of the country. The order was confirmed in the first quarter of 2026, with delivery planned for the third quarter of 2026. The equipment is equipped with specialized features and protective measures adapted to harsh mining environments, and comes with a comprehensive service and support package.
Chile is the world's largest copper supplier, and mining is the core of infrastructure and electrification supply chains. Konecranes forklift trucks have previously been used for heavy material handling at this customer's site, and the new machines will expand fleet capacity, bringing higher fuel efficiency and longer uptime.
Andres Ramirez, Regional Sales Development Manager for Konecranes Forklift Trucks, said: "Mining operations require frequent movement of heavy loads between plant areas, placing extremely high demands on forklift performance. This order demonstrates that Konecranes equipment is precisely designed to meet this challenge. We are honored to support the logistics operations of one of Chile's most important industrial sectors."
Konecranes' local dealer, Trex Chile, will be responsible for commissioning and after-sales support. Given the demands of large-scale copper mining, Trex Chile's local presence and application knowledge were key factors in winning this deal. Oscar Ibarra, Sales Manager at Trex Chile, said: "By understanding the customer's operational and support needs under the harsh conditions of copper mining, we have built a close relationship with them. This fleet expansion reflects their positive experience with Konecranes equipment and our responsive local service."
The 23 units include 16 Konecranes Liftace F 16-600 C forklift trucks, 4 Konecranes Liftace F 10-600 C forklift trucks, and 3 Konecranes SMV 32-1200 C heavy-duty forklift trucks. The equipment is designed for high performance under demanding conditions, with robust safety and ergonomic standards to ensure operator well-being. All units will be equipped with a mining kit tailored to the customer's operating environment.
