The 15th China National High-Efficiency Process Technology Seminar for Bar and Wire Rod Held in Changzhi

en.Wedoany.com Reported - From June 24 to 26, 2026, the 15th China National High-Efficiency Process Technology Seminar for Bar and Wire Rod was held in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. The seminar was jointly organized by the High-Speed Wire Rod Rolling Mill Equipment Technology Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals and the Beijing Society for Metals, under the theme "Anchor High Quality, Set Sail for the 15th Five-Year Plan." More than 180 representatives from Baowu, Angang, Shougang, Sanming Steel, Zhongtian, Nangang, Shagang, and other enterprises attended the event.

In his address, Cheng Xiangqian, General Manager of Shougang Changzhi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., stated that in the face of a complex market environment and the "dual carbon" goals, it is essential to anchor green and low-carbon transformation, focus on high-efficiency cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, and persist in innovation-driven quality improvement and upgrading. Xiao Jinsong, Director of the Institute of Materials Industry Research at the CCID Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out in his report that the steel industry faces five major challenges, including severe green transformation and low-carbon development challenges, insufficient depth of digital and intelligent transformation, and reliance on imports for key equipment. Professor Yu Wei from the University of Science and Technology Beijing shared the mechanisms of controlled rolling and controlled cooling technology, as well as the latest research findings on high-carbon steel network carbides and gear steel banded structures.

Participants conducted professional discussions on hot and difficult issues facing the bar and wire rod industry. After the seminar, they visited the production line of Shougang Changzhi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Prior to the seminar, the re-election meeting for the eighth committee of the High-Speed Wire Rod Rolling Mill Equipment Technology Branch was also held.
