en.Wedoany.com Reported - To thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief, and to carry out the deployment of emergency communication support work by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Communications Administration of Sichuan Province has coordinated and organized four basic telecom operators—China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Broadcasting Network—to work together, achieving 5G inter-operator roaming across the province in emergency scenarios.
This function has been successfully tested and verified at Foshoushan New Village in Xiexing Town, Guang'an, and at Xisuo Group 2 in Maerkang, Aba. Cross-network link interconnection and cross-regional data integration have all been completed. Key business test indicators, including voice and video calls, emergency calls, emergency SMS, and data transmission, have met expectations, successfully enabling network interoperability for users across different operators. This initiative establishes an emergency communication support system characterized by "multi-network collaboration, with one network as the safety net." That is, when natural disasters or sudden emergencies damage the network of some operators, as long as any 5G network is available within the affected area, users in the disaster zone can roam onto it, ensuring communication needs for emergency command, dispatch, and rescue operations. This enriches the means of cross-operator collaborative support and enhances the province's emergency communication capabilities in extreme scenarios.
In the next step, the Communications Administration of Sichuan Province will focus on the new requirements for emergency communication support during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. By improving mechanisms, empowering equipment, strengthening network foundations, and enhancing team capabilities, it will continue to boost emergency communication support capabilities, providing solid information and communication support for the province's disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief efforts.
