Renewable America Completes 1.9 MW Commercial Solar Project for California Nut Processor
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, Renewable America announced the completion of a 1.9 MW DC commercial solar project with food processing company Pearl Crop. Pearl Crop, a family-owned nut processing business with multiple production facilities in Central California, faced rising energy costs due to high consumption and set sustainability goals.
The agreement covers four projects across three locations in Ripon, Linden, and Stockton, California. The largest site in Stockton is expected to meet 86% of its energy needs through solar, saving approximately $230,000 annually in utility costs. Renewable America, serving as developer and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, provided a turnkey solution, completing all work before the Net Energy Metering 3.0 (NEM) system launch, locking in NEM 2.0 energy savings for Pearl Crop.
During the design and installation phase, the team conducted roof inspections to confirm structural load capacity, avoided shading of solar panels by adjacent buildings, and prevented roof leaks to protect the quality of almonds and walnuts processed in the facility.
Renewable America President and CEO Ardeshir Arian stated that these projects promote local community energy independence and contribute to the state's carbon neutrality goals. Pearl Crop CEO Ulash Turkan noted that the company's operations are energy-intensive, and transitioning to solar is expected to achieve significant cost reductions.
