Towns and cities where new mobile communications sites were activated for the Deutsche Telekom network in May include Aachen, Ansbach, Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Kiel, Cologne, Leipzig, Lübeck, Munich, Nuremberg, and many other regions.

In addition to new base stations, Deutsche Telekom also upgraded many existing communication towers. The company increased capacity at 677 sites, primarily for mobile internet access, allowing more users to access high-speed mobile internet simultaneously at the same location.
