en.Wedoany.com Reported - China Shaanxi Coal Hancheng Mining Co., Ltd., located in the Weibei complex disaster coal field, has taken the lead in introducing and optimizing full-face tunnel boring machine (TBM) rock roadway construction technology to address industry pain points such as slow advance rates and insufficient mechanization in traditional drill-and-blast rock roadway excavation. Through equipment adaptability modifications and excavation process innovations, the company has established a continuous operation workflow for rock breaking, support, and mucking, complemented by a surrounding rock stability control and rapid support system, adapting to complex underground geological conditions and ensuring safe excavation operations.
This complete TBM excavation process has been implemented in four northern mining areas, including Sangshuping Mine and Wangfeng Mine. After deploying six TBM units, the monthly rock roadway advance rate in the mining area increased from 150 meters with comprehensive mechanized excavation to an average of 350 meters. Each unit can reduce two excavation faces, saving 15 million yuan in annual production costs. This technology effectively shortens the rock roadway construction cycle, providing a mature and efficient solution for rapid gas control roadway construction.
Hancheng Mining is located in the Weibei complex disaster coal field, characterized by complex geological conditions and significant gas control challenges. Rock roadway excavation is a critical step in gas control roadway construction, where traditional drill-and-blast methods suffer from low efficiency and high safety risks. The successful application of TBM technology has set a benchmark for mechanized rock roadway excavation in similar complex geological coal mines.
The promotion and application of this technology mark a significant breakthrough in China's coal industry for rock roadway excavation under complex geological conditions. Through equipment adaptability modifications and process innovations, TBM technology has successfully adapted to complex underground geological conditions, providing a new technical pathway for safe and efficient production in the coal industry.
