en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, at the 28th "Mining and Metallurgical Industry Excellence Awards" ceremony, CMOC Brazil won two national industry awards for its breakthrough technological achievements in niobium and phosphate operations.
The "Mining and Metallurgical Industry Excellence Awards," selected by the authoritative Brazilian industry magazine Minérios & Minerales, aim to recognize outstanding companies and individuals who have effectively driven progress in Brazil's mining and metallurgy sectors through technological innovation, serving as a key benchmark for measuring industry innovation. Winning both awards this time not only certifies CMOC Brazil's technical strength but also highly affirms its long-term commitment to the "Innovation-Driven, Green Development" philosophy.
In the niobium sector, the award was given for the "Recycled Aluminum + Calcium Nitrate" metallurgical heating model. CMOC Brazil started from the raw material end, innovating the traditional aluminothermic process for ferroniobium and developing a more economical and environmentally friendly "Recycled Aluminum + Calcium Nitrate" metallurgical heating model. This solution reduces production costs, broadens procurement channels, effectively lowers carbon emissions during production, and solidifies its industry-leading position in low-carbon niobium metallurgy technology.
In the phosphate sector, the award was granted for the independently developed active additive (helping improve SSP quality and efficiency). In practice, this additive enhances the conversion rate and physical properties of single superphosphate (SSP), simultaneously reduces unit production costs, and boosts the capacity of related granular fertilizers. Last year, the Catalão chemical plant achieved a historic production high due to this innovation, marking a milestone breakthrough in "quality and efficiency improvement" for the phosphate segment.
Although these two innovations apply to different fields, they share a common thread—using technical wisdom to overcome operational challenges, leveraging collaborative innovation to enhance efficiency, and adopting green processes to reduce environmental pollution.
"These two honors embody the wisdom and hard work of the entire team. They prove that innovation is not an unattainable 'high-tech' but a driving force deeply embedded in every detail of daily operations. From frontline engineers to management, everyone worked together, viewing challenges as steps for progress and responding to expectations with tangible results," said Daniel Evangelista Caixeta, Senior Manager of Mineral Processing and Metallurgy for CMOC Brazil's Niobium Division. "This honor will inspire the team to continue moving forward, building a mining benchmark that is more efficient, cleaner, and more internationally competitive."
True industry leadership lies not only in production capacity and profitability but also in the continuous expansion of technological boundaries and a solemn commitment to the ecological environment. CMOC Brazil will continue to take innovation as its engine, adhere to sustainable development, deeply cultivate its presence in Brazil, and contribute more "CMOC solutions" to promote high-quality development in the mining industry.
