en.Wedoany.com Reported - In the early hours of July 5, as the grinding train, having just completed its rail grinding task, slowly entered and stopped at Boten Station, the first phase of 144 kilometers of large-scale track maintenance machinery rail grinding on the Laos section of the China-Laos Railway was successfully concluded.
According to Ouyang Yongquan, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Liaison Department of the Laos-China Railway Company Limited, which is responsible for the operation of the Laos section of the China-Laos Railway, the total length of the Laos section is 422 kilometers. This operation marked the first time large-scale track maintenance machinery was used for rail grinding on the Laos section since the railway's opening and operation. The work began on the evening of May 18, with the Laos-China Railway Company Limited collaborating with China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. for 49 consecutive days. Using nighttime "windows," they performed precision grinding on the rails, effectively improving track smoothness and enhancing passenger comfort.
Chen Jin, head of the grinding team at the Luang Prabang Maintenance and Management Center, stated that before each operation, a coordination meeting is held to confirm the day's tasks, personnel assignments, and safety risks item by item, ensuring smooth workflow and controllable safety conditions.
According to the Laos-China Railway Company Limited, rail grinding is referred to as "regenerative treatment" for rails, significantly extending their service life, effectively reducing train noise and vibration, and improving the passenger travel experience.
The successful completion of this operation not only fills a gap in the application of large-scale track maintenance machinery rail grinding technology on the Laos section of the China-Laos Railway but also accumulates valuable experience for the second phase of grinding, scheduled for August this year, providing a more solid foundation for the safe operation of the China-Laos Railway.
