en.Wedoany.com Reported - In response to the continuous growth of orders in the Southeast Asian offshore wind power market, EEW Group has announced the expansion of its EEW KHPC plant in Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. After the expansion, the plant's annual capacity will increase from the current approximately 60,000 tons to over 200,000 tons.

According to the plan, starting from the second half of 2027, EEW KHPC will be capable of producing monopiles with a diameter of 13 meters, a weight of 2,500 tons, and a length of up to 120 meters. Once the expansion project is fully operational, the plant will process 200,000 tons of steel annually for LSAW pipe production, more than tripling its current capacity.

Deok-Han Kim, General Manager of EEW KHPC, stated that the Southeast Asian offshore wind industry is expected to see significant growth in the coming years, and this expansion is a forward-looking move to address this trend. Christoph Schorge, Group General Manager, emphasized that the extensive experience accumulated in the European market, combined with the local team's technical expertise in manufacturing large-diameter monopiles, provides strong support for the rapid progress of the expansion project.

To support this expansion, EEW Group has acquired adjacent existing production facilities and land, more than doubling the production area. At the same time, the port storage area is being expanded to fully leverage the logistical advantages of the plant's direct connection to the port. The expansion will also create approximately 200 new technical jobs locally.

With nearly 20 years of experience in offshore wind foundation manufacturing, EEW Group operates its Rostock plant in Germany, EEW SPC, in coordination with the Gwangyang plant in South Korea. This investment will further consolidate the group's market position as a leading supplier of offshore wind foundations.
