en.Wedoany.com Reported - Valmet will deliver a new secondary superheater to the circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler at Eneco's Bio Golden Raand biomass power plant in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. This service project aims to reduce the risk of unplanned outages and enhance overall plant reliability, thereby supporting the lifecycle partnership between Eneco and Valmet.

"Maintaining high availability is crucial for providing reliable baseload steam supply to our customers. Lifecycle replacements like this secondary superheater replacement are key to ensuring reliable performance now and in the future. Our long-term partnership with Valmet ensures proactive planning and execution of upgrades, minimizing production risks. We value Valmet's technical expertise and deep understanding of the plant, which facilitates efficient execution and helps us achieve our long-term performance goals," said Tom Schepers, Head of Industrial Business at Eneco.

The CFB boiler was originally delivered by Valmet in 2013. This combined heat and power plant uses recycled wood as fuel to produce renewable electricity for the local community and supply steam to an industrial plant.

"Eneco's Bio Golden Raand plant is an excellent example of how continuous development enables efficient and sustainable energy production using demanding fuels. The secondary superheater replacement is a critical lifecycle investment that helps ensure high availability and reliable production. By combining our service expertise with operational knowledge of the plant, we provide solutions that minimize downtime and support stable and efficient performance," said Oliver Sarelin, Sales Manager, EMEA, Pulp, Energy and Circular Business at Valmet.

The order has been booked in Valmet's orders received in the second quarter of 2026. The value of the order has not been disclosed. Delivery and installation will take place in March 2027.

The delivery scope covers a turnkey replacement of the secondary superheater in the CFB boiler, including engineering, manufacturing, and installation. The new superheater is designed as a one-to-one replacement, enabling seamless integration into the existing boiler and minimizing installation time during planned outages. Valmet's own service team will handle the installation to ensure efficient execution and quality.
