Designed for a processing scale of 5,000 barrels per day, the Gen 6 extraction system advances LibertyStream's repeatable template for recovering critical minerals from existing U.S. oil and gas water treatment infrastructure. The Freedom Launchpad is used to produce lithium carbonate, prepare customer samples, train operators, collect process data, and optimize operating manuals. The company's first commercial-scale plant, Freedom 1, with an annual capacity of 1,000 tons, is located at the same site.
The system integrates programmable logic control and real-time monitoring of key operating variables, including temperature, pressure, flow rate, pH value, and conductivity. Automation streamlines operations, enhances consistency, and collects process data as the company advances customer samples, product certification, operator training, and preparations for Freedom 1. The commissioning of the Gen 6 system is based on 21 months of operation, over 400,000 barrels of processed brine, and more than 2,500 operational tests. This configuration reduces cycle time to approximately 20 minutes, compared to about 60 minutes under the Gen 5 configuration. The process has not changed with scaling.

The team has transitioned from field learning, manual operations, and customer sample production to an automated system that reflects the planned scale-up. The company's focus is on "production, certification, training, construction, deployment." The company expects that commercial-scale designs will adopt the same core process architecture, equipped with larger turntables to accommodate more extraction modules and support higher throughput.
The company has produced lithium carbonate at its first deployment site, delivered products for customer evaluation, and announced a long-term offtake milestone, planning to supply 600 tons of lithium carbonate annually starting in 2027. Freedom 1 is being developed as the first commercial-scale unit under the company's agreement with Select Water Solutions, designed for an annual capacity of 1,000 tons of lithium carbonate, with a target commissioning date by the end of December 2026. Site clearing and grading for the unit have been completed, and preparations are underway for concrete construction to support the commercial-scale equipment expected to be received in late Q3 and early Q4 2026.
Lithium carbonate is the company's first product focus, with the broader platform designed around recovering critical minerals from existing oil and gas water treatment infrastructure.
