Wedoany.com Report-May 3, Solex, a Gujarat-based company, has begun developing a new 2 GW n-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility, with production set to start in early 2027. The project marks a significant expansion for the company’s operations in the renewable energy sector.
The facility is located on land already acquired by Solex and will form part of an integrated complex that includes a 2 GW TOPCon solar module production line. Chairman and Managing Director Chetan Shah stated: “This development represents a big step forward for Solex.”
Currently, Solex operates a 1.5 GW module production capacity. The company is also working to launch an additional 2.5 GW module production line by September 2025, increasing its total module output to 4 GW per year. This move strengthens Solex’s position in the solar energy market.
Looking further ahead, Solex has set ambitious goals to expand its manufacturing capabilities. By the end of the decade, the company plans to achieve a cumulative module production capacity of 15 GW and a solar cell production capacity of 5 GW. These targets reflect Solex’s commitment to supporting the growing demand for renewable energy solutions.
The new facility aligns with efforts to advance clean energy production, contributing to sustainable energy development. The integrated cell and module production site is designed to optimize efficiency while meeting industry standards for solar technology.
