en.Wedoany.com Reported - Australian mining company Eastern Resources (ASX:EFE) has announced the results of its first reconnaissance sampling program at the Marengo Gold Project in Queensland.

The sampling program collected a total of 60 rock chip samples, targeting historical stopes and surface vein extensions across an area of 750 hectares, covering three prospect zones: One Mile Mountain, Sulphide Shaft, and Seymour’s Reef. All 60 samples returned detectable gold values, with 20 samples grading over 1 g/t Au and 13 samples grading above 5 g/t Au. The highest gold result from this sampling came from sample 3017023, with a grade of 12.3 g/t Au, along with 9.2 g/t silver (Ag). Sample 3017027 returned 8.91 g/t Au, with a peak silver grade of 153 g/t Ag.

Executive Director Myles Fang stated that the preliminary results will help guide the company's next phase of exploration. Rock chip sampling of known gold-silver mineralization returned peak results of 12.3 g/t Au and over 100.0 g/t Ag. The company plans to conduct further mapping and sampling, refine drilling targets, and advance toward the first drilling program. The company looks forward to returning to Marengo in the coming months to advance further exploration plans.

Geological mapping during exploration also identified a new vein system named Reza’s Reef, located between the One Mile Mountain and Homeward Bound prospect groups. This vein extends approximately 1.7 kilometers on the surface, with an estimated width of 1 meter, flanked by up to two parallel veins of similar scale. Eighteen new samples collected along this strike all returned grades above 1 ppm Au.

The Marengo Gold Project is located approximately 35 kilometers southwest of Bowen, Queensland, within a regional mineral belt situated 45 kilometers southeast of the 1.1-million-ounce Mt Carlton gold mine. The company has the right to acquire up to an 80% interest in the asset. Multi-element analysis by consulting geologist Dr. Gregg Morrison indicates that high-grade gold results are associated with bismuth and iron oxide cavity fillings in gossan breccia, while lower-grade gold is associated with base metals including copper. The company stated that this geochemical signature will help guide future sampling work.

After completing target refinement, Eastern Resources plans to finalize the layout of its first drilling program and submit subsequent exploration permit documentation.
